Offer of Enrollment notifications for school-year 2023-2024 will be sent via email to parents/guardians of students who are being offered an enrollment space.  

 

Lottery Process for SY 2023-2024

1. The lottery was conducted on April 6, 2023 via Zoom. The link was emailed to applicants.

2. Lottery was conducted for all grade levels with more applicants than spaces available. 

3. Lottery included all applications received on or before March 15, 2023. 

4. Lottery numbers were put in random order and then assigned to applicants.

5. Each applicant was assigned one number except for residents in 96785 and 96718 zip codes who were assigned four numbers per the VSAS Admissions Policy on weighted lottery for geographic residence. 

6. Applicants were grouped based on number of applicants, spaces available, and enrollment preferences (children of VSAS staff or Governing Board, siblings, former students) per the VSAS Admissions Policy. 

7. Lottery numbers for applicants in each group were randomly sorted using a randomizer tool (www.randomizer.org) and assigned a rank order number. 

8. Each applicant was assigned the rank order number corresponding to the applicant’s lottery number. 

9. Offers of enrollment will be sent to applicants able to receive an offer of enrollment based on space available and lottery ranking. 

10. Emails notifying families of lottery results will be sent out in the next 2 weeks. You have 2 weeks to respond to the offer of enrollment. 

11. Each space that comes available will be offered to the next applicant in line according to the ranking that was determined in the lottery. 

12. Spaces become available when an applicant declines a space, an applicant does not respond to the offer of enrollment by the deadline, or when a current VSAS student withdraws from the school.
