VSAS Opens PreK in SY 17-18!

VSAS to provide children with their best start in education. Research has shown that children who are well-prepared for school have better focus for learning and experience greater success in school and throughout life. A quality preschool experience can be the difference your child needs. The Volcano School of Arts & Science’s new PreK program is place-based, incorporating Volcano’s unique natural environment and Hawaii’s rich cultural wisdom, language, and teachings.  The VSAS PreK curriculum provides opportunities for each child’s creativity and innate problem-solving skills to blossom as children use their natural curiosity to investigate and explore their environment.  Read more.

VSAS Wows Accreditation Team

The Volcano School of Arts & Sciences received rave reviews from the Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC) following their visit to determine renewal of the school’s accreditation status. The most exciting feedback we received was that the committee did not have any recommendations for revisions to our school action plan. This is very rare. In fact, the chairperson commented that it was the best plan she has ever seen in her 30 years of serving on accreditation review teams! Please visit our website www.volcanoschool.net to read the strengths and critical areas for follow-up identified by the WASC committee. We will receive the results of our assigned term in a couple months, and are expected the maximum term of six years.
